Prices for Horse Portrait Paintings

Payment arrangements
There are 2 basic methods of preparing for a portrait of your horse:
This price list is intended as a guide for your appraisal of the prices involved in a commissioned painting. Each commission is unique, and I can provide you with definitive costings, when all the requirements are known. A deposit of 30% is required before the painting will be started, with the outstanding amount being paid upon approval of the completed painting. The painting is then varnished (and framed, if required), and delivered via courier once payment has been received. If a personal visit is required, I add a charge to cover my travel costs and the time spent studying the horse (minimum of 2 hours), at £75/hr). Should you wish to leave deciding upon aspects of size and content until after a personal visit by myself, I will propose a suitable deposit to be made prior to the visit. A personal visit by the artist, or providing your own photos?
There are 2 options for the reference of your horse painting:
You can either supply your own photographs for me to use as reference, or I can visit in person, to make my own studies of the horse(s) in question. Equally, if distance is an issue, it may be possible to arrange for a local equestrian photographer to take reference shots on my behalf. |
Gift Vouchers
For the occasions when a painting can't be completed in time for a special date, or maybe you'd like the recipient to be involved in the choices for a painting, but wish to keep the portrait costs private:
... A horse portrait gift voucher could be the answer. Once a deposit has been made, I can provide you with an attractive, custom-designed and personalised digital voucher, for use on the special day. Please do get in contact to discuss your requirements. Terms & Conditions |
A frame for your painting
My horse portraits are produced on either stretched canvas or directly on board, and can be supplied as is, or framed and ready to hang on your wall.
If you would like to have your painting framed, and having discussed your requirements / preferences, I can supply you with a range of frame choices for your consideration. |
Do you have an urgent deadline?
As I work in acrylic paints rather than oil paints, this enables a painting to be supplied much faster, with no delay waiting for it to dry (Oil paintings can take weeks to dry).
If at all possible, I will accommodate urgent requests, though this can only be answered when all circumstances are known, and balanced against my current workload.
Should you have an urgent request, please contact me as soon as possible, and we can discuss what may be achieved.
